I have stayed at many, MANY a HK hotel over the last 5 years, and thism tops my list for value, atmosphere and overall quality. The only caveat is that the location is a bit of challenge if you really want ease of travel. However I only docked one star for that, because transversing the mid-levels to get down to the city proper is extremely fun (if you like hiking haha) and beautiful. I hiked the tramway path both up and down, and it's a gorgeous and interesting hike. There is also no pool at this hotel, so if that is a requirement for you, you should move on. The breakfast is a great value if you get it packaged with the room price, and the afternoon tea is phenomenal - I had this two days during my stay: one as the traditional high tea for two and then one that was the individual tea, and both were excellent. The room is spacious compared to HK standards and the kitchenette and bathroom are laid out well, and work well with in the space. Lastly, the view from the garden room I got was truely top tier. It overlooked the botanical garden and had a great view of Central. There was also a flock of wild parrots that would land on the terrace outside the window and they were a delight to watch in the morning and evenings. This will be one of my top three places to stay in HK.
